Tirupati Balaji also known as Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple is a temple situated in Tirupati District of Andra Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to lord Venkateshwara who is one of the form of Lord Vishnu. The other name of the temple is Kaliyuga Vaikuntha and it is world’s richest Hindu temple. Tirupati Balaji also known as Venkateshwara is one of the forms of Lord Vishnu. According to Mythology and stories Lord Vishnu once decided to come on earth in human form so that he can experience the life of their devoted followers. In Human form Lord Vishnu’s name was Venkatachala and prince Venkatachala grew up and is one of the most loved leaders among the people. One fine day Rishi Bhrigu came to visit at Venkatachala place to take test of his hospitality. When Bhrigu Rishi kicked Venkatachala, his wife became angry and spanked the sage Rishi Bhrigu. Venkatachala requested Bhrigu Rishi for forgiveness showed regret. It is said that Lord Vishnu who was in Venkatachala heart decided to end the mortal life and left the body.
According to reports Tirupati Temple was built in 300 CE i.e. nearly 900 years ago. The Garbhagriha of the temple is known as Ananda Nilayam. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Association found the ancient cluster of the different temples including Lord Venkateshwara Temple.
Tirumala is one of the richest pilgrimage centre in the world. It is the home of Lord Venkateswara situated on the top of Seshachalam Hills popularly known as Seven Hills.
